Jason Bellue

This company has been a dream of mine for longer than I can remember. In 2016, with a computer on a makeshift desk at my dining room table, that dream came true. Today, Flying House has grown to become one of the premier production houses in the Midwest. As I reflect on my career at MTV, Oprah and now at Flying House, I realize I owe each of the successes in my life to one key philosophy: when you surround yourself with great people, amazing things will happen. With all the great people I've worked with, it's no wonder I'm sitting right where I want to be.

My role for the last 15 years of my career has been that of a a visual storyteller. It's my job to support my team in telling the best story possible using cameras, lenses, and lighting. Though, throughout the years I've found that it's not all about the fancy gear you have as much as it is about the person you are behind it all. I've worked with many different creative teams over the years but never found one quite like Flying House. Each project has one common goal in mind: taking care of the people involved. From the crew to the client, everyone is family. I left a 15-year freelance career to become a permanent member of this team and I couldn't be happier. I finally feel I'm where I'm suppose to be.

When I'm not at work there's one thing on my mind and that's my family. I love cooking with my wife Kate and building blanket forts with my 2 year old son Rocky. Life is good.

When I'm not at work, you'll find me chillin' with my wife, Bekah and our dog, Benny, playing a round of disc golf or cooking up fun new recipes.
Steven Cheak

“Marty… you gotta come back with me… back to the future”
That famous scene is what got me into editing at a young age. My dad and I used two VCRs to cut the ending of Back to the Future 1 with the start of Back to the Future 2. It was a crude way of doing it, but the 10-year-old Steve was blown away.
Fast forward (to the future) 31 years and I’m now telling stories through moving images and color at Flying House Media. While I did not start my career here, I feel like I’ve been with this company for years. The crew at FHM are the most genuine people I have worked with in this industry, and that shows in everything they do.
When I’m not making cuts and adding LUTs, you can find me playing videos games, hanging out with my wife, and anxiously awaiting the birth of my son, Oliver. I also like to pretend I’m hip and cool, but, ya know, I’m a nerd in my 40s.
Nikko Harris

Being a newer face in the world of video production, I do not think there is a better place for me than at Flying House Media. Throughout my college career and beyond, I have had some amazing experiences and mentors, but Flying House preaches something that was missing: that it is all about the people. The reason I fell in love with this profession was simply for the reason of being able to witness so many unique stories from some truly outstanding people.
When I’m not working, you can find me kicking around on my skateboard, snowboarding, fostering dogs, and jamming on my guitar...a little too loudly according to my neighbors

What I love about video editing is the ability to shape everyone’s unique story in a way that others can connect with. Seeing projects come to fruition through editing, and seeing how we are all alike is what storytelling is all about. It’s an honor to be trusted with people’s stories, and here at Flying House we strive to show the human component in every story.
When I’m not at work, you can find me cooking new recipes, watching Netflix, and planning my next National Park hiking trip.

I've worked with this team for over five years and it is here where I discovered the art of conversation. I have realized it's my role not to ask questions but to help others feel comfortable enough to share a piece of who they are, and in the process, reveal their own humanity. I am a firm believer that everyone has a unique story waiting to be shared. No one approaches sharing it like Flying House. It is what I call the Flying House experience and is just one of the many reasons I love being a part of this team.​
When I'm not working, you'll find me building vintage motorcycles, performing comedy throughout the city of Chicago and podcasting.

I have always struggled to decide what exactly I want to do with my life, but have always known I wanted to be in a field where I could meet people and learn about them. That's why Flying House is an exciting place for me to be. Making meaningful connections drives our entire operation, and my job is to find people who are looking for a partner to help make those connections.
When I'm not working you can find me on a tennis court, curled up with a book, in a thrift store, or pushing the limits of my car stereo.
